Workplace discrimination and work comp-what reference will employer give?

I've been an RN for 14 years, a Charge nurse, and always received excellent evaluations. 16 yrs in medical field prior to that. The last 4 yrs have been a nightmare.

I was injured at work, yet continued working with the chronic pain for the next 10yrs. My condition got worse, but I did a good job, and did not miss work.
I'm a single parent and had to work. I restricted my outside life severely in order to be able to stay at work.

Our new supervisor began targeting and harassing people, and eventually it was my turn. She has had many complaints against her, but nothing is ever done. It's a state facility and no one seems to care.

She began transferring me all over the hospital, 6 times in 22 months, left me there until I learned the area, then yanked me and moved me again. I was the only nurse she did this to.
I was re-injured in 2002.
I still kept working although the chronic pain was much worse and underwent experimental treatment to help. It helped some, then she
moved me to very physically demanding areas. I stuck in out 6 mo. until I couldn't walk. I had a mental breakdown of sorts, and have spent 3 of the last 4yrs WAITING on work comp approvals for tests and to see Drs, who give me appts after their 'real' patients. I only began having any real treatment in Aug. 2006.
I have made huge strides mentally and physically, but afaid to do nursing; memory issues
If my Dr releases me to some part-time work [sitting, walking, bending, standing aggravate my condition, so it will be difficult to find a job. Sedentary is prob. out]
My dilemma is what type of reference will my employer give me? Not sure if because I am an injured worker if they can say anything bad; I'm sure she'll try.
Though still employed, as the complaint against them left them in a bad light, my files will show I haven't been working in 4yrs.
I've tried being honest, but most people have judged me negatively right off.
I need to do a resume and not sure what to say. Thanks
Sueing my employer is against the law here, they are the State. They ignored all my written complaints up the ladder, they are the State. I have a wk cp atty, nothing can be done.
I live off of less than a third my salary.

** My question is, how to get back into the workplace with this history, how to explain all this to prospective employer?

Suggestions for jobs?

1You are beeing "BULLIED AT WORK", i went through ten years of this and then i found this guys website :

http://www.bullyonline.org/

He is English and called Tim Field, his site may help you, as i don't know if you are in UK or USA, but it is worth a look. One piece of advice, is you need to prove your case, so ensure you keep any records of your treatment, keep a diary of all that happens to you (and others who will corroborate your story) Also, unlike me, you should have people who are above your supervisor to whom you can go. I had no one as the problem I had was with a company MD. I think you need to approach someone in authority and lodge a formal written complaint. This then puts the "ball in their court" and if they do nothing, perhaps they too will be liable. Whatever you do, never question your own actions, workplace bullies seek to demean and demoralize us and they try to separate us from work colleagues whom they fear, to weaken our position. Good luck,

JUST READ YOUR ADDITIONAL INFO!!

Seems a difficult one, future employers seem to take a dim view of employees who suffer as we have, but I have been lucky insofar as I have always told the truth in any interview. Perhaps I work on the assumption that after being bullied I will never again work for a firm or organisation who would condone such actions and therefore if someone doesn't hire me because I told the truth, thats their loss and my gain...
